Kamala Harris Unveils Wealth-Building Economic Policies
U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris plans to announce new economic policies aimed at helping Americans build wealth and providing incentives for businesses. Scheduled to be revealed in Pittsburgh, the policies focus on affordability, wealth building, and closing pay gaps. The campaign faces debate on its timing close to the election.
U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris intends to unveil a new set of economic policies this week, designed to help Americans build wealth and provide economic incentives for businesses, sources with knowledge of the matter have said. Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Harris confirmed she would outline her economic vision in a speech this week.
The policies, which remain undisclosed, might be announced in Pittsburgh on Wednesday. As undecided voters seek more comprehensive economic plans from Harris, particularly in critical swing states, these new policies could be pivotal. Democrats are engaged in heated discussions about releasing more economic policies so close to the election, sources reported.
During her 2020 campaign, Harris proposed significant pay raises for public school teachers, forced companies to disclose gender pay gaps, and advocated for penalties on companies failing to narrow them. The Biden-Harris administration has aimed to eliminate bias in home appraisals and used the federal contracting budget to support minority businesses. Harris has released policies addressing housing costs, taxes, small business expenses, childcare, and goods. Her plans build on Biden's policies, including increasing the child tax credit and raising the corporate tax rate to 28%.
