In a bold move, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal declared on Sunday that he will vacate his official residence during the upcoming Navratri festival, which begins on October 3. This decision follows allegations of corruption that led Kejriwal to resign on September 17.
Kejriwal, in his public address at Jantar Mantar, vehemently denied the accusations and criticized the BJP for allegedly framing him in a false case. He argued that his track record of providing free electricity, bus travel for women, and improvement of government schools and hospitals testified to his honesty in governance.
Kejriwal, released on bail after over five months in Tihar jail, stated that he entered politics to serve the country, not for power. He committed to vacating his official residence and living among the public until acquitted of all charges, labeling the Delhi Assembly polls a 'trial by fire' for his integrity.
