CPI(ML) Liberation leader Dipankar Bhattacharya has expressed concerns over the BJP's attempts to use communal polarisation to regain strength following their setback in the Lok Sabha polls. Bhattacharya, in an interview with PTI, noted that despite BJP's majority win in Jharkhand in 2024, the party now faces strong opposition in the state.
Bhattacharya is optimistic about upcoming elections in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jammu and Kashmir, predicting strong performance by the INDIA bloc. He highlighted the recent merger of the Marxist Coordination Committee with the CPI(ML), strengthening their presence in northern Chhotanagpur areas previously dominated by BJP.
Addressing the 'One Nation, One Election' proposal, Bhattacharya criticized it as a step towards autocracy, undermining the country's federal structure and democracy. He reaffirmed the importance of coordination within the INDIA bloc and among Left parties, despite the recent loss of CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury.
