Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Sunday alleged that Bangladeshi infiltrators serve as a ''vote bank'' for the JMM-led alliance in Jharkhand, further accusing the ruling party of not taking action against them.
Speaking at a public rally in Koderma as part of the BJP's 'Parivartan Yatra', Maurya lambasted the Hemant Soren government for failing to meet election promises and suffering from rampant corruption. ''The Bangladeshi infiltrators, initially confined to West Bengal, have now spread throughout Jharkhand, posing a significant challenge. The JMM-led government cannot expel them, as they view these infiltrators as their vote bank,'' Maurya stated.
Highlighting the BJP's stance, he declared that illegal immigrants are a ''blot on Jharkhand's dignity'' and that the BJP is the ''only party capable of driving them out.'' With assembly elections on the horizon, the BJP plans to initiate six 'Parivartan' processions, spanning 5,400 km across 81 assembly segments in 24 districts, aimed at exposing the failures of the JMM-led government. Around 50 national and state-level BJP leaders, including several chief ministers, are expected to take part in the rallies.
