In a series of high-stakes meetings, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored India's commitment to global growth, peace, and security. Modi engaged with the leaders of the Quad nations in both multilateral and bilateral settings, articulating India's views on a wide array of key issues.
Prime Minister Modi's engagements included separate bilateral talks with Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and U.S. President Joe Biden, alongside the Quad Leadership Summit held in Wilmington, Delaware. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri highlighted these significant interactions during a special briefing in New York.
Modi's meetings were characterized by an emphasis on technological advancement, good governance, and strategic cooperation. A remarkable gesture by President Biden was the return of 297 antiquities to India. Additionally, the Quad Cancer Moonshot and the Quad Ports of the Future Partnership were significant outcomes of the summit. The discussions also covered regional and global issues including multilateral governance reforms.
