Two senior Hezbollah leaders were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a Beirut suburb, Israel's military confirmed on Saturday. Lebanon has raised the death toll to 37, including women and children.
Israel and Hezbollah continued to engage in retaliatory strikes. The airstrike, which targeted a densely populated neighborhood, was the deadliest since the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war and claimed the lives of Ibrahim Akil and Ahmed Wahbi, both key figures in Hezbollah.
Lebanese rescue workers have been digging through the rubble, with more casualties expected. The deadly strike heightened ongoing tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border, compelling mass evacuations in both regions.
