Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday vehemently criticized the BJP's 'one nation one election' initiative, describing it as a threat to the union of states that must be resisted.
Addressing a gathering in memory of CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, who recently passed away, Reddy lamented Yechury's absence at this critical moment for the country.
He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of showcasing the BJP's fascist views by not taking action against Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu for disparaging remarks about Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
The Chief Minister praised Yechury's role in fostering cooperation between Left and Congress at the national level to counter BJP's power, despite electoral battles in Kerala.
Reddy also commended Yechury's contributions to key legislations like the Right to Education, Right to Information, and Food Security Act, noting his demise is a significant loss to the poor.
Highlighting the declining influence of Telugu leaders in national politics, Reddy stated that Yechury, a native of Andhra Pradesh, could have been a guiding figure for them.
