Congress MP Syed Naseer Hussain has called on the BJP-led government to disclose the number of schools, bridges, and hospitals constructed in Jammu and Kashmir over the past eight years. As Assembly elections unfold in the region, with the first phase of voting on September 18, questions on development remain central to the campaign.
Hussain urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP to outline their plans for Jammu and Kashmir should they come to power again. He emphasized the need for transparency in the number of jobs offered, investments made, and the reduction of terror attacks in the state.
Countering BJP's claims, Hussain pointed to ongoing scams and criticized the awarding of tenders to outsiders. Meanwhile, Amit Shah took a jab at the Congress and the National Conference, blaming them for increased terrorism and disruption during their 35-year rule. The elections, featuring major parties like the PDP and BJP, are the first since the revocation of Article 370.
