Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared on Saturday that the upcoming assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir aims to dismantle the dynastic rule of the Gandhi, Abdullah, and Mufti families. He accused these families of crushing democracy since independence. Addressing a public gathering, Shah emphasized that the region's youth now hold laptops instead of stones, marking a shift in the socio-political landscape.

This election, Shah asserted, is significant as it aims to end the 75-year rule of these families. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for conducting Gram Panchayat and Tehsil Panchayat elections, leading 30,000 youths in Jammu and Kashmir towards democracy. Shah envisioned these youths emerging as future MLAs, MPs, and CMs, further solidifying democratic foundations in the region.

Targeting former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Shah accused him of enjoying in England during the 1990 eruption of terrorism in the state. He blamed Abdullah's family for the resultant 30-year development halt and 3,000 days of shutdown. Shah also criticized the Opposition, particularly Rahul Gandhi, asserting that his rhetoric supported terrorism and promised reservations for the Pahadi and Gujjar communities without reducing existing quotas.

Shah announced several welfare schemes, including an annual sum of Rs 18,000 for the eldest woman in every household, 2 free cylinders for Ujjwala beneficiaries, and an increase in PM-Kisan scheme benefits from Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000. These measures aim to uplift the socio-economic status of Jammu and Kashmir residents.
