Amar Preet Singh Appointed New Chief of Indian Air Force

Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh, a distinguished officer with more than 5,000 hours of flying experience, is set to become the next chief of the Indian Air Force. He will succeed Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, who retires on September 30, according to a statement from the defence ministry.
Currently serving as the Vice Chief of Air Staff, Singh will officially take charge on the afternoon of September 30. The announcement was confirmed by the government, highlighting Singh's extensive career and qualifications.
Born on October 27, 1964, and commissioned in December 1984, Singh's nearly 40-year service includes roles as a test pilot, project director, and commander of significant air bases. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy and other prestigious institutions, Singh brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
