Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Wednesday expressed his dismay over media reports indicating a 'threat' to Congress's top leader, Rahul Gandhi. He urged the Central Government to act swiftly to guarantee his protection.
In a post on X, Stalin conveyed his shock, referencing a BJP leader's threat that Rahul Gandhi 'will meet the same fate as his grandmother' and a Shinde Sena MLA's bounty for cutting his tongue, along with other intimidating threats. According to Stalin, these threats stem from Rahul Gandhi's growing public support, which seems to unsettle many.
Stalin, who is also the head of Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK, emphasized that such acts of intimidation are unacceptable in a democracy and urged the Union government to ensure Rahul Gandhi's safety while reaffirming the nation's commitment to democratic values.
