In a significant development in the Land-for-Job money laundering case, the Rouse Avenue court has issued summons to key defendants, including Lalu Prasad Yadav and his sons, Tejaswi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav. Notably, this is the first instance where Tej Pratap Yadav has been called upon in this legal matter. His involvement, previously overlooked, has now garnered judicial scrutiny due to his past directorial role at AK Infosys Ltd.
Issued by Special CBI Judge Vishal Gogne, the summons also extend to six other individuals, directing all accused to make a court appearance on October 7. Additionally, the court has implicated Akhileshwar Singh and his spouse, Kiran Devi, into the proceedings. Despite Kiran Devi not being initially charge-sheeted, her role in selling land for a job arrangement involving her son has thrust her into the spotlight.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently filed a supplementary charge sheet listing 11 accused, four of whom have since passed away. The court directed further proceedings based on significant material evidence against the accused. Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court has granted regular bail to businessman Amit Katyal, citing medical reasons, although his continued involvement remains under ED's scrutiny. The ongoing investigation and recent revelations underscore the alleged misuse of public office by acquiring land fraudulently, spotlighting prominent political figures.
