Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Maken on Wednesday approached a police station in the national capital to lodge a complaint against BJP leaders over threats to Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. Maken's complaint at the Tughlak Road police station named Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu, Delhi BJP leader Tarvinder Singh Marvah, Shiv Sena's Sanjay Gaikwad, and Uttar Pradesh Minister Raghuraj Singh.

In his complaint, Maken accused Tarvinder Singh Marwah of threatening Rahul Gandhi during a BJP event on September 11. Marwah allegedly made a provocative statement referring to the assassination of Gandhi's grandmother, Indira Gandhi. Maken claimed this incident was caught on video and included it as evidence. He also named Sanjay Gaikwad, who allegedly offered a bounty of Rs 11 lakh for anyone who would 'cut the tongue' of Rahul Gandhi on September 16.

Maken also accused Ravneet Singh Bittu of branding Rahul Gandhi as the 'number one terrorist of the country' in a public statement on September 15. He alleged this statement was intended to incite violence. Similarly, Uttar Pradesh Minister Raghuraj Singh called Gandhi the 'number one terrorist of India' on September 16. Maken asserted that these statements aimed to disrupt public peace, particularly during elections in Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana. He requested an FIR against the accused for criminal intimidation and public mischief.
