The BJP in Jharkhand is set to launch six 'Parivartan Yatras' from September 20 to highlight the alleged shortcomings of the JMM-led alliance government, a senior party official announced on Monday. The aim is to 'uproot' the current government in the forthcoming assembly elections.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is anticipated to kick-off the yatra from Bhognadih, the birthplace of Sido and Kanu, who spearheaded the Santhal revolt in 1855. The yatras will traverse 5,400 km, covering all 81 assembly segments across 24 districts, according to Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi.
The campaign will last from September 20 to October 2, with departures on different dates. Approximately 50 national and state-level BJP leaders, including chief ministers from BJP-governed states, will participate to draw attention to issues such as demographic changes, law and order, corruption, and declining tribal populations.
