Modi's Road Journey to Jamshedpur: A Political Rally with High Stakes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi traveled to Jamshedpur via road from Ranchi airport due to bad weather. He was on his way to address BJP's 'Parivartan Maharally' at Gopal Maidan, a critical event ahead of the Jharkhand assembly elections. The Kolhan region, a strategic focus with 14 assembly seats, is crucial for BJP, especially after losing all nine tribal segments in the 2019 elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday embarked on a road journey to Jamshedpur from Ranchi airport after inclement weather grounded his chopper. He is set to address the BJP's 'Parivartan Maharally' at Gopal Maidan, a pivotal event as Jharkhand's 81-member assembly elections loom.
'The prime minister is going to Jamshedpur via road to address a rally at Gopal Maidan there,' an official confirmed. The journey covers approximately 126 kilometers from Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi.
Modi's visit is politically significant for the Kolhan region, which includes East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela Kharsawan districts, representing 14 assembly seats. Notably, the BJP failed to secure any of the nine tribal-majority constituencies in the 2019 elections. The visit also underlines the influence of ex-Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, who recently joined the BJP.
