Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj voiced serious concerns over recent violent incidents in Delhi, including the murder of a gym owner in Greater Kailash and a fatal shooting in Geeta Colony. Bhardwaj criticized the Central government and LG Vinai Kumar Saxena for neglecting their responsibilities towards the city's security, particularly highlighting the significant staff shortage in the Delhi Police Force.
Drawing attention to these incidents, Bhardwaj posted on X, expressing his outrage: "Yesterday a gym owner was murdered in Greater Kailash. And today there was firing in Delhi's Geeta Colony and one person died. @LtGovDelhi and when will the Centre start taking responsibility for its work? There is a huge shortage of staff in Delhi Police. There is a need for large-scale recruitment in Delhi Police." The statement followed the murder of Ashu alias Shahid, who was shot by an unidentified assailant in Rani Garden, Geeta Colony. Police have registered a case and further investigation is ongoing.
Earlier, Nadir Shah, a gym owner, was shot dead in Greater Kailash. The Delhi police reported that Shah's friends rushed him to the hospital, but he was declared dead upon arrival. An investigation into the case continues. DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan detailed the incident, stating, "Around 10:45 PM, we received a PCR call about a firing incident in the E-block of GK (Greater Kailash). Nadir Shah, a gym owner, had partnered in running the gym and around 7-8 rounds of bullets were fired."
