Congress Demands FIR for Threat Against Rahul Gandhi
The Congress Party has called for the government to file an FIR against BJP leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah, who allegedly threatened Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. The incident follows a protest by BJP's Delhi Sikh cell, criticizing Gandhi’s remarks in the US regarding the Sikh community. Congress leaders argue this threatens India's democratic fabric.

The Congress on Friday demanded that the government file an FIR over a purported threat from a BJP leader to the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and called for a review of his security.
Members of the Delhi BJP's Sikh cell protested on Wednesday against Gandhi near his residence, demanding an apology from him over his remarks concerning the community in the US. A clip of BJP leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah allegedly threatening Gandhi was widely shared by Congress leaders.
'Rahul Gandhi, refrain from such things, otherwise in the coming time, you will also suffer the same fate as your grandmother,' Marwah was purportedly heard as saying in the video. Addressing a press conference, senior Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa stressed the need for the government to act. Channi added that the BJP is distorting Gandhi's statements and playing with the sentiments of Sikhs. This controversy underscores larger issues of community rights and political discourse in India.
