The Karnataka BJP on Friday announced the creation of a five-member fact-finding committee to investigate the violence during a Ganesh idol immersion procession in Nagamangala, Mandya district.

Clashes between two groups disrupted the procession, resulting in mobs engaging in stone pelting and targeting shops and vehicles, causing significant tension on Wednesday night.

The committee, comprising MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan, MLA and former Minister Byrathi Basavaraj, former Minister K C Narayana Gowda, state secretary Lakshmi Ashwin Gowda, and former IPS officer Bhaskar Rao, has been tasked with visiting the scene, examining the events, and submitting a detailed report within a week, as directed by state BJP President B Y Vijayendra.
