The BJP on Friday urged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to step down immediately after the Supreme Court granted him conditional bail in a corruption case involving the excise policy 'scam'.

BJP's reaction followed the top court's decision to grant Kejriwal bail, asserting that prolonged detention would unjustly restrict his freedom.

During a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia criticized Kejriwal, labeling him 'kattar beimaan' (outright dishonest) and asserted that he should resign. Bhatia emphasized that Kejriwal remains an accused and must report regularly to the investigation officer.
Claiming that Kejriwal's reputation is tarnished, Bhatia said, 'People of Delhi deserve a better chief minister.' The BJP also likened Kejriwal's situation to West Bengal's Chief Minister, stating that Kejriwal would eventually have to resign due to public pressure.
New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj added that the Supreme Court found Kejriwal's arrest 'legal,' and noted the trial's delays led to the bail. She accused AAP leaders of celebrating corruption.
