Amid plans for a BRS party meeting in Serilingampally, leaders and activists were placed under house arrest, drawing sharp political reactions.

Tight security measures were enacted at the residence of BRS Medchal district president Sambhipur Raju to prevent any law and order issues. Friday's meeting followed a conflict between BRS MLA Kaushik Reddy's supporters and defector MLA Arekapudi Gandhi.

A police official confirmed that Raju and Kaushik Reddy were detained to maintain public order, especially during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. BRS Working President K T Rama Rao criticized the detentions, calling them illegal and comparing the Congress government's actions to an emergency. Telangana DGP Jitender asserted that any attempts to disturb the peace would be met with strict actions.
