The BJP has urged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to step down after the Supreme Court granted him conditional bail in the excise policy corruption case. According to the BJP, this indicates that Kejriwal remains an accused.
The Supreme Court had earlier given conditional bail to Kejriwal, stating that prolonged incarceration equates to an unjust deprivation of liberty. Yet, the court has not exonerated him from the allegations.
Speaking at the party headquarters, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said, 'The Supreme Court has shown a mirror to 'kattar beimaan' (outright dishonest) Arvind Kejriwal while granting bail to him. He should immediately resign after this.' Bhatia stressed that the charges against Kejriwal have not been dismissed, nor has he been acquitted.
