The White House condemned former President Donald Trump on Thursday for his connection with far-right conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer, who is currently traveling with him during his presidential campaign.

Loomer, who claims she does not work for Trump, has spoken with him about political issues and often visits his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. Her inflammatory posts on X, where she has a following of 1.2 million, sometimes appear to inspire Trump's rhetoric. Ahead of Trump's debate with Democratic Vice President and presidential candidate Kamala Harris, Loomer made a racially charged comment about Harris, stating if she won the election, the White House would 'smell like curry' and speeches would be 'facilitated via a call center.'

White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre denounced the comments, saying, 'It is repugnant and un-American to say these types of things. This is exactly the kind of hateful and divisive rhetoric we should denounce.' No leader should ever associate with someone who spreads this kind of ugliness,' Jean-Pierre added.

Loomer joined Trump for his Tuesday debate in Pennsylvania and was with him in New York on Wednesday for a Sept. 11 commemoration. According to video and photo evidence, Loomer has speculated in the past that the Sept. 11 attacks were an insider job, though she has since recanted, declaring the attacks were carried out by 'Islamic terrorists.'

Asked about the White House's criticism, Trump's campaign did not address his relationship with Loomer directly but stated he aimed for bipartisan unity during the Sept. 11 ceremony. Loomer dismissed the White House's rebuke, denying racism and suggesting spokesperson Jean-Pierre's criticism stemmed from a dislike of Loomer's social media post on Haitian immigrants.
