Historic Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir: A Shift Towards Secularism

The upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir mark a historic milestone, being the first since the region embraced secularism, according to BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi.

Trivedi highlighted the elections as a choice between nationalist and anti-national forces, urging voters to opt for peace and development over death and destruction. He noted the significance of these elections being the first under one flag and without incidents of stone-pelting or flags of ISIS and Pakistan.

Trivedi criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for meeting individuals who consider Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as part of Pakistan, contrary to India's official stance, calling it an insult to the Indian Parliament. He also commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for restoring peace in Kashmir and highlighted significant development milestones, including improved tourism and resumption of Muharram processions.
