National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Thursday briefed Russian President Vladimir Putin on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv, amid renewed efforts to find a peaceful solution to the Ukraine conflict.

Doval met Putin at the Konstantinovsky Palace in St Petersburg on the sidelines of a BRICS conclave. During the meeting, Doval conveyed Modi's highest regards and relayed the Indian Prime Minister's satisfaction with his recent visit to Moscow.

The Putin-Doval meeting followed Modi's trip to Kyiv, where he urged both Ukraine and Russia to engage in direct talks to end the war. India has maintained that the conflict should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.
