Sitaram Yechury passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi at the age of 72 following a prolonged illness. He had been in critical condition and on respiratory support in recent days, sources reported.
Vijayan reflected on Yechury's tenure as the party's general secretary, noting his significant role in navigating the party through challenging political landscapes. He emphasized that Yechury's clear political positions made him a guiding figure not only for the party but also for the broader Left front and Indian politics.
