Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti stated that her People's Democratic Party (PDP) remains the only political entity capable of resisting the BJP's alleged undermining of the Union Territory's identity, resources, and employment opportunities.
Reflecting on the PDP's tenure in power, Mufti highlighted the party's efforts to uplift the people of south Kashmir during challenging times marked by the enforcement of POTA and the activities of the Special Task Force. She emphasized that the current challenge for the PDP is to surpass its previous developmental achievements in the region.
In response to questions regarding the release of MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid on interim bail, Mufti expressed hope for the release of other incarcerated youths.
