In a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Samajwadi Party's chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the party of turning Uttar Pradesh into the 'capital of fake encounters.' Yadav stated, 'The government has particularly targeted PDA families in these encounters.'

He assured Ayodhya residents that in two years, under an SP government, Ayodhya would be transformed into a world-class city. Yadav criticized a pattern he claims has been set under BJP rule: 'They first pick someone, create a fake encounter story, and then use fake photos to justify it. When families speak the truth, they are pressured,' he posted on X.

Congress echoed these allegations, with Rahul Gandhi accusing the BJP of disregarding the 'Rule of Law.' He questioned the impunity enjoyed by UP's STF officers involved in these controversial encounters. In response, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath defended police actions, stating that the police now target criminals effectively, reversing the roles seen under SP governance.
