Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Wednesday praised the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) manifesto for the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir, calling it 'inclusive' and aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India or 'Vikshit Bharat'.

Singh highlighted key aspects of the manifesto, stressing its focus on women and equal participation of all citizens. 'An inclusive Sankalpa Patra has been announced, with provisions like financial aid of Rs 10,000 to 20,000 for youth coaching, ensuring that no young person feels abandoned due to economic constraints,' said Singh. He expressed confidence that the electorate would support BJP candidates to strengthen PM Modi's vision.

Addressing opposition claims about restoring Article 370, Singh asserted that the people of Kashmir would reject such moves. He emphasized that the BJP's vision aligns with India's developmental path. The manifesto includes 25 promises, highlighting women-led development, particularly through the 'Maa Samman Yojana', which offers Rs 18,000 annually to the senior-most woman in every household.

Other promises include state assistance for Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) on bank loan interest. The region has 90 Assembly constituencies, with specific seats reserved for SCs and STs. According to the Election Commission, Jammu and Kashmir have 88.06 lakh eligible voters. In the last Assembly elections, the PDP won 28 seats, BJP 25, National Conference 15, and Congress 12.
