The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday unveiled the names of 30 more candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. Among the notable names is Kavita Dalal, a former wrestler and WWE participant known as 'Lady Khali', who will contest from Julana against the Congress's Vinesh Phogat and the BJP's Yogesh Bairagi.
Earlier in the day, the AAP had released a list of 21 candidates and followed up with nine more names in the evening. Dalal, 37, will face stiff competition from Phogat, an Olympian, and Bairagi, a former commercial pilot, in the Jat-dominated Julana segment.
The AAP's candidate announcements come in the wake of failed seat-sharing negotiations with the Congress. Overall, the party has named 70 candidates for the October 5 elections. The final date for filing nominations is September 12.
