Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has criticized the Narendra Modi government for its handling of the conflict with China. Speaking to reporters, Gandhi described it as a "disaster," stating that 4,000 square kilometers of Indian territory are "occupied" by Chinese troops.
Despite this, Gandhi indicated broad agreement with the BJP-led government on major foreign policy issues such as relations with the US, refraining from talks with Pakistan unless terrorism ends, and addressing extremism in Bangladesh.
During a press conference at the National Press Club, Gandhi rejected any US role in India's internal affairs, asserting that Indian democracy is strong and capable of handling its own issues. He called for an end to all forms of violence and emphasized the international significance of Indian democracy.
