In a fierce backlash, BJP leaders have denounced Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his recent meeting with US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar during his visit to the United States. The BJP's IT Cell head, Amit Malviya, claimed that Gandhi's actions reveal the Congress party's anti-national stance.

Malviya stated, "India's Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi meets Ilhan Omar in the USA, a Pakistan-sponsored anti-India voice, a radical Islamist, and an advocate of independent Kashmir. Even Pakistani leaders would be more circumspect about being seen with such rabid elements. Congress is now openly working against India."

Another BJP spokesperson, Shehzad Poonawalla, added, "After spewing venom against Sikhs and running down India on foreign soil, now Rahul Gandhi meets and engages with anti-India Ilhan Omar. She has introduced anti-India resolutions in the US Congress and criticized the abrogation of Article 370. She even visited PoK on a trip sponsored by Pakistan."

Party spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari remarked, "Rahul Gandhi's meeting with Pro-Pakistan Ilhan Omar in the United States proves he endorses Pakistan apologists and anti-India elements. The Congress Party compromises India's national security."

Meanwhile, Gandhi's US tour includes engagements with the Indian diaspora, students, and US lawmakers, aiming to strengthen India-US relations. Notable meetings included US Congress members Jonathan Jackson, Ro Khanna, and more. Gandhi also met with US diplomat Donald Lu and Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal.

On his first visit to the US as Leader of Opposition, Gandhi expressed his eagerness for meaningful discussions to bolster India-US ties. He highlighted his dynamic interaction with students at the University of Texas and underscored the role of the Indian diaspora in bridging the two countries.
