According to PredictIt's 2024 presidential election market, Harris's odds jumped to 56% from 52% before the debate, while Trump's odds fell to 48% from 51%. Stock futures continued to ease during and after the debate, with the S&P 500 E-minis down 0.5% and Nasdaq 100 E-minis declining by 0.65%. Additionally, the dollar index slipped by 0.23%.
Comments from various analysts indicated that neither candidate provided substantial economic reassurance, leading to greater uncertainty in the markets. Despite the lack of a decisive outcome, Harris's performance provided her a marginal edge according to prediction markets.
