In a significant development, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar has leveled allegations against the Maharashtra government, claiming they bypassed legal protocols to allot land in Navi Mumbai to a trust led by Shiv Sena minister Sanjay Rathod for establishing a community center for the Banjara people.

The accusation has triggered a response from BJP quarters. Pravin Darekar, a BJP MLC, commented that instead of fixating on land disputes, Wadettiwar should direct his efforts towards retaining his assembly seat in Brahmapuri, where there's growing local demand for a Kunbi community representative.

The political discourse intensifies as Maharashtra draws closer to its assembly elections in November, with OBC communities like Banjaras and Kunbis becoming pivotal topics of discussion.
