BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has declined the role of communication chief for the Maharashtra assembly polls, citing a lack of prior consultation. Somaiya conveyed his disapproval to Raosaheb Danve, the chairman of the party's state election campaign committee, labeling the decision as insulting.
In his letter, Somaiya recalled how he was previously sidelined by the BJP when the party was in alliance with the Shiv Sena, particularly noting his efforts to expose alleged corruption in the Mumbai civic body.
Despite expressing his regrets, Somaiya stated that he would continue to serve the party in other capacities. He also posted a message on X, underscoring his commitment to the BJP while refusing the specific role.
