The United States and Britain have formally accused Iran of supplying short-range ballistic missiles to Russia, intended for use against Ukraine. In response, new sanctions have been placed on Moscow and Tehran ahead of a planned visit to Kyiv by both countries' top diplomats.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, during his visit to London with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, noted that Russia had received shipments of these missiles and would likely use them in Ukraine within weeks. Blinken emphasized that Iranian missile transfers represent a profound escalation in the conflict.
Iran's foreign ministry denies these allegations, attributing them to Western propaganda. Meanwhile, new sanctions have been announced by Britain, France, and Germany against Iran and Russia. These penalties include cancellation of air services agreements and targeted actions against individuals and businesses involved in missile and drone transfers.
