The ruling BJP and the Opposition BJD have intensified their war of words, each claiming credit for establishing new IT operation centres and a semiconductor unit in Odisha.
Several Opposition BJD leaders mocked the state's BJP government, accusing it of capitalizing on the achievements of former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, especially in the IT and semiconductor sectors. On the contrary, the BJP alleged that the prior administration was only known for "signing MoUs" without implementation.
BJD leaders, such as Sasmit Patra, T K Behera, Bhrugu Baxipatra, and Lekhashri Samantsinghar argued that Odisha became a thriving IT hub during the BJD regime, while the BJP is busy "cutting ribbons."
