Union Minister and former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal announced on Monday the beginning of nominations for the Haryana Assembly elections. He expressed confidence in the BJP's victory, predicting a third consecutive term for the party. "We know that this festival of democracy comes every five years. Nominations for Haryana Vidhan Sabha have begun. We have presented our first list of candidates. Whatever I have seen on the occasion of nominations, I can say that the Bharatiya Janata Party government is coming to power in Haryana for the third time," the Union Minister remarked.

On September 4, the BJP unveiled its initial list of 67 candidates for the forthcoming Haryana Assembly elections, excluding nine incumbent MLAs. According to an official statement, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will run from the Ladwa constituency, and former state home minister Anil Vij will contest from Ambala Cantt.

Other prominent figures included in the first list are Gian Chand Gupta from Panchkula, Kanwar Pal Gurjar from Jagadhri, Sunita Duggal from Ratia, Bhavya Bishnoi from Adampur, and Tejpal Tanwar from Sohna. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda, Haryana election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan, and other key leaders gathered on September 2 to discuss the party's candidates. Voting for Haryana's 90-member legislative assembly will be held on October 5, with the nomination deadline on September 12 and the vote count on October 8.
