BJP leaders Aseem Goel and Vipul Goel have officially entered the race for the upcoming Haryana assembly elections by filing their nomination papers on Monday.

Aseem Goel, who is a minister in the Nayab Singh Saini government, submitted his documents for the Ambala City assembly segment, supported by Chief Minister Saini and fellow BJP leaders.

Former minister Vipul Goel, vying for a seat in the Faridabad assembly, was backed by Union Ministers Manohar Lal Khattar and Krishan Pal Gurjar as he submitted his nomination papers.

In a statement on X, Vipul Goel expressed confidence in retaining the support of the Faridabad constituency, rejecting the Congress's 'illusions and lies.'

Meanwhile, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate Aditya Devi Lal, grandson of former deputy prime minister Devi Lal, filed his papers for the Dabwali seat after quitting the BJP. He faces opposition from JJP candidate Digvijay Singh Chautala, brother of former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala.

In Dabwali, INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala and his wife Kanta Chautala urged voters to support Aditya, with Punjab MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal recalling her family's association with Devi Lal and making a personal appeal for votes.

The last date for filing nominations is September 12, with scrutiny on September 13 and the withdrawal deadline on September 16. Voting will take place on October 5, and results will be declared on October 8.
