National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah on Monday expressed confidence that his party, along with its coalition partner Congress, is poised to form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing an election rally in Ramban district, Abdullah criticized Congress candidate Vikar Rasool Wani, the BJP, and the PDP, accusing them of damaging the region. He stated that despite initial seat-sharing disagreements, the NC and Congress have mostly aligned and are now contesting most seats in unison.

Abdullah affirmed that come October 8, the coalition will form the government. He also commented on Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's statements about dialogue with Pakistan and contrasted it with Home Minister Amit Shah's criticism, calling for clarity and truth in politics. Regarding the PDP, Abdullah highlighted their alliance with BJP, which he claims led to the revocation of Article 370 and the region's bifurcation.
