Jayant Patil, chief of the Nationalist Congress Party's Maharashtra unit, lambasted the Eknath Shinde government for its lack of vision and mounting state debt during a recent interaction organized by the Pune Union of Working Journalists (PUWJ).
Patil urged the populace to focus on fundamental issues and work toward a government with a long-term vision. He raised concerns about the state's deteriorating law and order situation and increasing communal rifts under the current administration, consisting of Shiv Sena, BJP, and Ajit Pawar's NCP.
Addressing the 'Ladki Bahin Yojana,' Patil criticized the scheme's short-term focus and alleged that it was merely for electoral gains. He reiterated the need for a more farsighted approach to governance while lauding opposition leader Sharad Pawar's sacrifices to fortify the Maha Vikas Aghadi.
