Jaishankar Boosts Bilateral Ties with Saudi Arabia and Qatar at GCC Meeting

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met his counterparts from Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Monday, reviewing bilateral progress and seeking ways to enhance cooperation.
Jaishankar, who arrived in Riyadh for the inaugural India-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) foreign ministers' meeting, engaged with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to discuss bilateral developments.
He also met Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, to advance India-Qatar relations and share regional insights. The GCC encompasses the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait, with India-GCC trade valued at USD 184.46 billion in FY 2022-23.
