In a pointed critique, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday lambasted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the current state of law and order in the state.
He remarked that the BJP government has become accustomed to court reprimands and noted he is not troubled by remarks from 'someone on his way out.'
Adityanath, responding at a public rally, accused the SP of conspiring and creating anarchy, stating that they focus on family power rather than development and safety. He defended police actions in a recent encounter, which Yadav suggested was staged.
