In a significant political development, Haryana BJP Vice President GL Sharma switched allegiance to the Congress on Sunday. He was joined by over 250 office bearers and several workers from the BJP and other organizations, according to a Congress statement.
GL Sharma, who previously served as the chairman of the Dairy Development Corporation in the Haryana government, received a warm welcome from former Chief Minister and prominent Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Hooda hailed Sharma's return to the party, emphasizing that the Congress is dedicated to safeguarding the interests of all communities.
Additionally, key BJP figures such as Gurugram district secretary Mahesh Vashishth, Rohtak Lok Sabha IT cell head Praveen Mudgil, Beni Prasad Gaur from the legal cell, and Prajapati Samaj Gurugram president Bastiram also joined the Congress, marking a substantial exodus from the BJP.
