The BJP has ramped up its membership drive across 252 slum clusters in Delhi under the leadership of Alka Gurjar, co-in-charge of Delhi BJP, and Union Minister Harsh Malhotra. This initiative is part of the party's ongoing slum expansion campaign, organized every Sunday.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva stated that slum residents are enthusiastically joining the party, largely due to their dissatisfaction with the Kejriwal government. The campaign saw Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra conducting a membership drive at the Indira Camp in Patparganj, emphasizing the slum dwellers' desires for cleaner homes.
Gurjar also recruited new members in Shastri Market and Vasant Vihar, noting a strong attraction towards the BJP among poor women who aspire to secure a better future for their children. Senior BJP leaders, including Pavan Rana, Bansuri Swaraj, and other party workers, were present during the drives. Concurrently, former Union minister Smriti Irani kicked off her three-day organizational visit, addressing BJP workers in Shahdara, Karol Bagh, and New Delhi. Irani praised the welfare efforts of the BJP government and highlighted the growing membership base.
