Funeral services were held Saturday in Poltava for the victims of one of the deadliest Russian airstrikes since the Ukraine conflict began. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has vowed to increase domestic military production by establishing underground weapons factories.

The airstrike targeted a military training facility, leaving over 50 dead and more than 300 injured. Hundreds of mourners, including grieving families, local residents, and officials, attended the solemn ceremony at the Cathedral of the Assumption, standing over caskets draped in Ukrainian flags. The event was marked by the sound of an air raid siren.

Moscow has intensified attacks on Ukrainian cities, targeting energy infrastructure and causing deadly strikes in residential areas. Despite the grim outlook, Ukraine continues to fortify its defense capabilities, with Zelenskyy emphasizing the production of new drones and missiles.
