Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump plans to endorse a government efficiency commission recommended by billionaire Elon Musk, according to a Thursday report by the Wall Street Journal.
The former president will reiterate his support for economic proposals, defend broadening tariffs, and pledge support for cryptocurrencies in a speech at the New York Economic Club. This marks the first public endorsement of the commission, which aims to audit and reform federal government operations.
Musk, a major donor, expressed willingness to serve on the commission if asked. Trump has also criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for rising consumer prices, although his perceived economic competency advantage over Harris is diminishing, surveys indicate.
