Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met his Singapore counterpart Lawrence Wong, resulting in the signing of four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the two nations.
Modi, who is on a two-day visit at Wong's invitation, was welcomed with a red-carpet ceremony at the Singapore Parliament House. The meeting marked a significant step in diplomatic relations, following Wong's assumption of office and Modi's commencement of his third term as Prime Minister. The two leaders also oversaw the exchange of four MoUs after their talks.
Later, Modi is scheduled to meet President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, as well as Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, with Lee hosting a lunch in his honor. Modi will engage with Singaporean business leaders and the semiconductor industry ecosystem. His visit to Singapore follows a historic bilateral visit to Brunei, where he was warmly welcomed by the Indian community.
