The United States is open to any country willing to assist in ending the conflict in Ukraine, stated White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby.
The comments followed inquiries at a Wednesday press conference regarding President Joe Biden's recent call to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi's call came after his trips to Ukraine and Moscow, raising questions about India's potential role in ending the war.
Kirby noted, 'Any nation that is willing to try to help end this war and do so in keeping with President Zelenskyy's prerogatives, the Ukrainian people's prerogatives, his plan for a just peace, we would certainly welcome a role like that.' On India's potential involvement, Kirby expressed hope. Biden had also lauded Modi for his historic visits and his peace message, as well as India's ongoing humanitarian support for Ukraine, including its energy sector.
