The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of fostering 'politics of hatred' that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old Hindu man, Aryan Mishra, in Haryana under the guise of cow protection.

During a press conference, senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh asserted that the BJP government in Haryana is complicit in the murder of Mishra, a Class-12 student from Faridabad. Singh alleged that self-proclaimed cow protectors chased Mishra for 30 kilometers before killing him.

Singh highlighted that in the last decade, 49 incidents involving cow protection have led to 55 deaths and 94 injuries across the country. The AAP leader criticized the so-called cow vigilantes, questioning their authority and the protection they receive from the BJP and the Haryana government. He called for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to answer for the incident, which he linked to the BJP's failed governance. Mishra was shot dead on August 23 on a highway, with five suspects arrested on August 28 for the crime.

Police sources revealed that the accused mistook Mishra and his friends for cattle smugglers, leading them to chase and shoot him. This tragic case, the AAP leader argued, symbolizes the larger issue of politically charged violence in the name of cow protection.
