Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh's deposed prime minister, is now contending with a staggering total of 94 criminal cases, following the addition of two fresh murder charges, reported The Daily Star on Wednesday.

Hasina, who fled to India after resigning last month, is primarily accused of murders linked to mass student protests against a government quota system. On Wednesday, Hasina and 26 others were charged over the death of a Dhaka resident during a protest on July 19. The victim's wife initiated the case in the Court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Afnan Sumi, which has now tasked the Police Bureau of Investigation with further inquiries.

Additionally, another case involves the death of a student during a protest in the Jatrabari area. The victim's mother filed this complaint, alleging her son was shot during the quota reform movement on August 5. With accusations stretching from top political leaders to activists, the judicial proceedings continue to garner significant attention.
